School Profile
Trafalgar Castle School is Canada’s second oldest school for girls. Established in 1874, Trafalgar Castle is differentiated by its size, location, and the strength of its community and we are known, in particular, for nurturing and growing the abilities of students who may become lost in a larger setting. With only 240 students from grades 4 to 12, including 45 boarders from grades 7 to 12, the School knows each and every student. We pride ourselves on challenging each girl’s mind, strengthening her voice and nurturing her heart. We focus on developing strong and independent young women who approach life with determination, thoughtful insight, compassion and kindness.
Conveniently situated 30 minutes east of Toronto, Canada, with direct flights to international destinations, our small and safe community provides easy access to Canada's largest city and is within walking distance to many local amenities. Trafalgar Castle offers a close-knit, academically challenging environment where girls feel a strong sense of belonging and discover their unique talents and interests. Our academic program is rooted in future-ready competencies that prepare students for a world yet to be imagined. Trafalgar has exceptional student supports and offers both a strong arts and STEM program, making it ideal for well-rounded students. As an Advanced Placement school, we offer a high standard of academics that position students well for US, Canadian or other international post-secondary destinations.
Our exceptional boarding program provides careful and thoughtful oversight of every student, and maintains strong connections to ensure families feel included in their child's educational experience. Our weekend offerings allow students the opportunity to experience the arts, culture and recreation with regular supervised trips to Toronto and other local attractions. We combine this with long weekend adventures to explore other Canadian cities and culture.
Trafalgar Castle School is known for its vibrant school spirit and abundant opportunities for girls to explore athletics, arts, music, drama, robotics, debating, and community outreach. We build confidence, foster a strong sense of belonging and develop resilience and strength within each of our students.
